but here's the thing - hand stitching isn't about productivity. It’s about creating small, meaningful moments of making when you can. Even 10 minutes with a needle and thread can be a calming reset.

Good enough for what?! Stitch Circle is a no-judgment zone. We celebrate wonky stitches - in fact we encourage them as a sign of you embracing your own style of creativity, of making with joy and doing away with the rules of sewing.

Me too, that's why Stitch Circle is designed to be slow, gentle, and a space for inspiration with no pressure to 'keep-up'. Do only what projects and tutorials you want.

It's true; you probably won't. And I don't expect or anticipate you will. I share the monthly projects as inspiration to add to your own creative stitching practice. You can dip in and out, see little bits of technique and add to our own work. This is the beauty of Stitch Circle - it's your sewing time!
If you're being held back from trying new things because of self-imposed (or taught) rules and must-dos, then Stitch Circle Community is perfect for you!
I want you to embrace doing things the 'wrong' way, so you can get unstuck and see things in a new light. Listen to your intuition instead of following rigid patterns.
Have conversations with your materials, trust that you already know the answer; and find the freedom in creating something that truly speaks of your inner voice.

In her membership, Ellie provides a warm and relaxing atmosphere where she emphasises the importance of process over product; thereby showing students that their work does not need to be perfect. It is all about the process and enjoying that process while expressing your own artistic voice with the products you have at hand.
By providing clear step-by-step videos in which she cuts down a project into manageable pieces, students will feel confident that they can complete a project.

It has been a bright spot for me, as life has been chaotic of late. And I am stitching! Not just thinking about it. Oh how we get caught up in the details of living.
Yours are the first videos I have looked forward to seeing.... they are delicious, delightful, precious to me. Thank you!
Gaylyn

Best $$ I've spent in a while! Such a beautiful community, all your offerings have an amazing energy and I'm so enjoying the act of getting back into my slow stitch. Plus, I'm learning so much! You are a blessing, Ellie

- Want to connect with others in a creative space - to share what you make, be inspired by their work, and have monthly chats together.
- Want to learn lots of new stitching techniques, projects and creative making ideas. We have projects you can finish, as well as projects that are process led.
- Want to make time for your creativity. Set aside a day each week, or a few moments each day. This is your permission to gather, stitch and create.
- Are ready to delve into the joy of making something for the pure delight of it - no mistakes, no rules, no perfect outcome needed. Just absolute fun, and a slow calm approach.
THIS MIGHT NOT BE RIGHT
FOR YOU IF …
- You want very structured patterns and projects. I work in an instinctual way, and encourage my students to do the same. The projects and video tutorials do have finished outcomes, and step-by-step how-tos, but my aim is for you to do your making with your own creative twist.
- You don't really want to share your work online, or connect with other makers. The online forum is one of the most delightful parts of Stitch Circle Community.
- You don't like learning with online classes or workshops. The whole of Stitch Circle is hosted online, and all the videos are pre-recorded.

I'm a textile artist, writer and photographer. I work in an instinctual, intuitive way in my creative process - conversations with my materials and the project are important to me.
I've been teaching, sharing and connecting online for over 17 years, and more before that. I love that I'm able to host Stitch Circle, and share a new way of working with so many people.
Helping someone to lean into their innate creativity, to unlock any fears of perfectionism, and to simply have fun with their creative stitching is part of the reason I started Stitch Circle.
And because I love chatting with you all - from all across the globe, all experiences, skills.
- Can I cancel the membership?Yes, you can cancel anytime. Unfortunately I can't refund any unused months - ie if you subscribe for quarterly or yearly membership you won't be refunded if you no longer want to access the membership during your paid time. But you can cancel before your next renewal.
- How do I access the community forum?I use a site called Circle.so for our forum. You can access it via their online website, or they have an app for both Apple and Android, so you can connect in our community whatever way is easiest.
- How do I watch the video courses?I host my courses on a site called Teachable, but am in the process of moving them all to Thrivecart. You can watch the courses on the websites (no app for Thrivecart yet, but you can easily watch on your mobile browser).
- What do I get inside the membership? You get immediate access to:
The stitch library, which includes lots of mini techniques and how-tos.
Our online community forum, hosted on Circle.so (desktop and app available).
All the online courses - currently includes over 13 different projects, as well as lots of process and techniques.
New course added each month.
Monthly mindful making prompt.
Access to our monthly zoom calls, and the replay.
If you subscribe as a yearly member I'll send you a little handmade artwork in the post! - What timezone are the zoom calls in?I live in Australia, so do work around my suitable times, but as I have an international audience I make sure the calls work for as many members as possible.
Currently the calls are held on a Thursday morning for me (Australian Eastern Standard time), which is usually Wednesday evening for US timezone.
Once you set up your profile inside the community forum site you can see the exact timezone for each scheduled call.
The calls are once a month, and recorded so you can watch the replay. - Do I get to keep all the course material if I cancel? No. When you cancel you lose access to all the video courses and tutorials, as well as the community forum. This is a monthly membership and new courses are added each month.
You only have access while you're a current paying member. - What about if I can't join in during that month - do I get a refund or an extra month?Unfortunately you only have access during the month, quarter or year that you've paid your membership. If you can't join for a month you can't add that on as an extra month. Think of it like a subscription to a streaming service - if you go away for a month, they don't give you a month for free.
But, if you know you'll be away for a month please let me know and I can put your membership on hold, so you're not charged for that month. - What if I need more support? You can always contact me directly via my email or send me a message inside the online forum.
- I have a question that you haven't answered.Absolutely, send me an email ellie@petalplum.com.au and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
